Once I had designed the concept I wanted to challenge myself by altering existing garments and starting from scratch. To make the tailcoat I began by draping on the stand; however the trousers were pre-made. Trousers for people with four legs are not easy to find, so I sourced two of the same chef trousers and tailored them to fit both the models real legs and her fake legs. The use of skin coloured tights and fishnet tights gave the illusion of the calico legs being skin. Rice and wadding was used to add weight and the pockets allowed access to grab and move the legs discretely. During this project I also experimented with techniques such as sublimation printing and laser cutting.
